Check-Digit Validation
Paysoft Check-Digit Validation (CDV) is a service that verifies a bank account and branch code as valid within the indicated bank’s account range. This is currently a built-in feature of all Paysoft’s standard products.
How does the product work?
When Paysoft receives a processing instruction from a client, we automatically pre-validate the bank account and branch code validity prior to submitting the transaction to the bank.
A report is generated that lists all failed validations and reasons for the failures. The client then has the option to either proceed with the transactions – excluding the failures – or to fix the failures and submit a new batch of accounts for processing.
Note that positive validation of an account number does not prove that the account exists, or that the account belongs to the account holder but indicates that this would be a valid account number according to the bank’s rules.
To verify the account information, the Account Verification Service (AVS) product should be used.
The CDV check is free of charge when combined with any of the other standard Paysoft products.
